Coorain

Coorain was built in 1992 by the dharma network of Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche, which also established Origins Centre in 1983. Coorain is the residence and practice gompa of those with an interest in Buddhist Teachings, Chimé Shore is the presiding teacher.

Our lineage is universalist, but with particular links to the Karma Kargu/Mahamudra Lineage of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism and to the Theravada Tradition of Myanmar (Burma). We also have a small vihara and teaching house in Rumtek, Sikkim.

We are friends with the Burmese Community of Western Australia and have close ties to Ven. Sayadaw U Thila Wunta, Abbott of Dat Pon Zun Aung Min Gaung Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar.

If you wish to find out more about the calendar of retreats and events at Coorain contact the resident practitioner on (08) 9764 1275 or write to Ani Dolma, PO Box 161, Balingup, WA, 6253.
